When builder Mark Poynter discovers a murder on his worksite all of his financial problems suddenly seem a lot closer to home:

Was this a warning that his debts were overdue? Suspected of being the killer and worried about being the intended victim, the murder only makes Mark's money problems worse, leading him to turn to the local villain, Hamlet, who has his unique repayment plan in mind for Mark.

When two more deaths plunge him even further into debt, Mark finds himself faced with a choice - help the police and clear his name or help the villain and clear his debt.

About the Author

Matthew Ross is originally from Medway Towns, England. He now lives in Kent with his Kiwi wife, their children, an elderly cat, and an energetic puppy. He pursued stand-up comedy years ago but preferred writing.
A well-known comedian soon approached him to provide material for theatre tours and shows like "Mock The Week." Seeking to write more, he joined the Faber Academy's six-month Novel Writing course in 2016, transforming his life.

Inspired by his experiences in the construction industry, Matthew writes darkly comic crime novels, including "Death of a Painter" and "The Red Admiral's Secret," featuring the misadventures of builder Mark Poynter and his quirky crew. He enjoys reading a variety of books, especially in the crime genre.
