Can Atticus streamline your writing and formatting process? Here's what I found after testing it myself.
Writers, are you struggling to juggle multiple tools for writing, formatting, and publishing your books? Atticus promises to simplify it all, combining the best features of word processors and professional formatting software in one sleek package.
In this post, I’ll share my hands-on experience (as an author of 24 books) with Atticus and let you know if it's truly a game-changer for authors.
Spoiler Alert: It could be.

Atticus: My Experience with This All-in-One Writing and Formatting Tool
When I first heard about Atticus, the promise of an all-in-one solution for writing and formatting novels had me intrigued. Developed by Dave Chesson, the creator of Publisher Rocket, which is another key tool for self-published authors (in my opinion) Atticus aims to blend the functionality of writing tools like Scrivener and formatting tools like Vellum regardless of platform. After testing it for my own writing projects, here’s what I found.

First Impressions
Straight off, Atticus presents itself as a highly versatile tool, making it appealing to both Mac and PC users (sorry Vellum, this is where you fall short). From the clean interface to the range of export options, Atticus is designed with ease of use in mind. It offers everything you need to write, edit, and format both eBooks and print books, all in one place.
The key draw for me? Well, there were two. Atticus is billed as being built by writers for writers and I agree. Using Atticus is very straightforward and intuitive. I don’t know about you, but I’m not one for reading instructions. I was able to get straight into formatting and updating all my books.
